Project inspiration and design direction
This concept was inspired by the graceful simplicity in the movement and shape of electromagnetic waveforms and ellipses. Reading and interpreting waveforms are the very essence of an engineer's day-to-day when testing and collecting data. Engineers use hardware called 'oscilloscopes' to observe the shape, frequency, amplitude, and other characteristics of electrical waveforms.
This concept also utilizes Neomorphism design to emulate the feeling of buttons and controls on oscilloscope hardware. Neomorphism involves creating digital elements that appear to be slightly raised or extruded from the background, giving them a soft, shadowy, and realistic appearance. Neomorphism seeks to strike a balance between realism and minimalism, using subtle shadows, highlights, and gradients to create a three-dimensional effect.
